I have to tell you a story, love. When I was born I was put up for adoption. I was born the day before MLK Jr. was assassinated. My adoptive parents were supposed to adopt another blonde haired, blue eyed baby girl. But daddy was a state trooper and he had to work the Detroit riots. So that little girl slipped through their fingers. A few weeks later when the riots were over and daddy got to go home, Lutheran Social Services called my parents and told them I was available for adoption. They went to Detroit and picked me up and the rest is history. If it had not been for the sacrifice of MLK Jr. I wouldn’t have been adopted by a groovy mom and dad and had a good life. Though it saddens me that he was killed, I do feel a kinship with him. See he gave me my life and my family. For that I will always be thankful.
